Luckily, the day we were all waiting for has arrived. Finally, Cuba received the first foreign travelers in the post-Covid stage.
Undoubtedly, after several months of uncertainties the whole world was waiting for the boarders to be reopened. Cuba made the official announcement and in July 1st, 2020 the island was at the start line to reopening for international tourism.
Even when the year 2020 started with terrible predictions for the tourism industry, today there is a light of hope. Cuba received the first foreign travelers from Nassau, Bahamas who arrived in the Island on August 1st, 2020.
Precisely, the travelers arrived at the International Airport Jardines del Rey in Cayo Coco. In accordance with all the actions and protocols, the airport medical services examined the clients who were afterwards sent to their resort.
According to the procedure, the clients stay at the hotel Pullman Cayo Coco, managed by the French chain Accor. Indeed, the Cuban tourism and sanitary authorities certified the resort to start operating as soon as determined. .
What is the next step?
Surly, the Cuban health care system is going to monitor every foreign client that visits the Island. So far, they are not planning to establish any quarantine. Even though they will send clients directly to the resort, there is going to be medical service available round the clock.
On the other hand, only certain resorts have received the certification to operate with foreign clients. Additionally, all foreign visitors are going stay in the Northern Cays in Cuba that are the safest destinations in the Island.
For the most part, Cuba has managed in a very safe way the Covid-19 pandemic. Even if we cannot talk about going back to our former reality, there is a step forward in traveling again. Today we can make it, let us Travel Safe.
